TEHRAN (FNA)- An exhibition on Iran’s scientific, research and technological achievements, will be held at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris from February 2-6, 2009.
Director-General of the Science, Research and Technology Ministry’s Public Relations Department Hashem Dadashpour was quoted by the Islamic republic news agency as saying that the event is part of the programs to mark the 30th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Iran’s UNESCO National Commission, which is affiliated to the ministry, is the main organizer of the event and is responsible for planning, policy making as well as holding the exhibition.
He further pointed out that all institutes, organizations, universities and research and technology centers can submit their outstanding research works to the UNESCO National Commission Secretariat for presentation at the event.
The display will seek to present Iran’s scientific, research and technological capabilities in three sections of education system in Iran, Iran’s scientific, research and technological achievements at the international level as well as the country’s accomplishments in areas underlined by UNESCO such as ecological issues and youth and women’s problems.
UNESCO is a specialized UN body established in 1954 with the aim of promoting peace and security in the world through international cooperation in the educational, scientific and cultural fields.
