Iran, Kuwait Review Expansion of Parliamentary Cooperation

A05255891.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Head of Parliament Cultural Commission Gholam Ali Haddad Adel conferred on Tuesday with Kuwaiti Parliament Speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi on expansion of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was held at the Kuwaiti parliament on Tuesday.

At the meeting, Haddad Adel underlined the importance of broadening parliamentary ties between the two countries.

Close ties between Iran and Kuwait could be regarded as a model for other countries in the region, he said.

There are ample untapped grounds for economic cooperation between the two countries which should be explored, he said, adding that the constructive role of two sides parliaments would be very crucial to this end, the Islamic republic news agency reported.

The Kuwaiti parliament speaker, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the current visit of the Iranian delegation and called for benefiting from Iran’s experiences at parliamentary sector mainly on procedural issues as well as impeachment of representatives.

“Iran is a very big country and it is our great pride to live in its vicinity,” he said.
