TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday evening that the Lebanese resistance to Israeli regime is good example for all regional nations.
He made the remark in a meeting with former Lebanese president Emile Lahoud who is on a tour of Iran.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the situation in Lebanon as well as major regional and international developments.
Ahmadinejad praised “Lebanon’s historic confrontation of the Zionist enemy”, and said he believes that the ongoing current situation on a global level provides independent states of the region, including Iran and Lebanon, an opportunity for a new chance through resistance.
He voiced Iran’s support for the Lebanese resistance movement, reiterating that the Islamic Republic has supported the Lebanese nation in the most difficult times.
He also told Lahoud that Lebanon and its people have the power to confront conspiracies hatched by the Zionist regime.
Since the “enemy of the Lebanese nation has become weak”, it can be easily defeated through a unity of the Lebanese people, the Iranian president said.
The former Lebanese president, for his part, briefed Ahmadinejad on the latest developments in Beirut, he underlined the political will of senior Lebanese officials for developing relations with Iran.
He lauded the vigilance of the Lebanese nation vis-Ã -vis the conspiracies of the Zionist regime.
Lahoud reiterated that future belongs to independent and peace loving nations.
