The Republic of Kosovo chief diplomat, Skender Hyseni, met with the President of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Pöttering, on Tuesday in Strasbourg whom he informed about the development and achievements in Kosovo since the declaration of independence last year.
The Kosovar Foreign Minister Hyseni discussed with the President of the European Parliament about Kosovo’s commitment to continue strenghening the democratic institutions, the process of recognitions, economic and security situation and other mutually important interests of Kosovo and the EU and other European nations.
Minister Hyseni underlined the importance of full functionality of EULEX and the process of ending of the mandate of UN in Kosovo, pointing out the European perspective of the people and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
He also expressed gratitude to the European Parliament for the huge support to Kosovo, while seeking further support to the new Balkan nation in the future as well.
Meanwhile, the President of European Parliament, Hans-Gert Pöttering, commended Foreign Minister Hyseni for the achievements of Kosovo and has ensured that the European Parliament, along with himself, will personally continue to support Kosovo’s aspiring path towards development and the European integration.
Very influential European MPs Doris Pack and Ingo Friedrich were also present at the important meeting.
