Turkey PM rejects possibility on “half-way” accession to EU

Turkey is ready to become full member states of the European Union and does not agree with the possibility of “half-way” accession to EU, said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“In case the country access the EU it will not be a burden for the others but will take part of the burden. If the EU announced the necessity of new conditions or propose us limited membership we will forfeit our plans to access the Union. We have fulfilled all conditions on the contract, now the EU has to implement its engagements,” said Turkish Prime Minister, Svoboda Radio correspondent informs.

According to Turkish analyzers, the reluctance Turkey to access the EU has only increases the religious-political barrier between Christians and Muslims in the country.
