EU lawmakers to debate Macedonia’s progress

European Parliament will hold a plenary session on February 10th to debate the progress of Macedonia, Croatia and Turkey towards the European Union membership.

European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee recently adopted the amendments to draft-resolution on Macedonia, urging the EU leaders to set a date for membership talks with Macedonia during a March summit.

The draft-resolution urged the governments in Athens and Skopje to redouble their efforts towards finding a mutually acceptable solution to the name dispute.

The document was drawn up by Zoran Thaler, a Slovenian Member of the European Parliament and its rapporteur on Macedonia.
