European delegation looks into Bulgaria’s eligibility for ERM II

Officials from the European Commission (EC), the European Central Bank (ECB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will arrive in Bulgaria 18 February to examine the country’s readiness to join ERM II, the so-called Eurozone waiting room.

The experts will visit Sofia at the invitation of Simeon Dyankov, Minister of Finance, who has discussed the issue during his formal trip to Germany and Luxembourg.

EU countries that have not adopted the euro are expected to participate for at least two years in the ERM II before joining the Eurozone. BNR reports.
