Turkey, Albania scrap visa requirements

Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday that Albania-Turkey agreement, lifting visa requirements for natioanals of the two countries, enters into effect on Wednesday.

Albanian foreign ministry said scrapping the visa obligations started on January 27th and now the citizens of both counters are entitled to visa-free travel.

Albanian citizen can stay in Turkey up to 90 days without visa.

Lifting visa requirements between Tirana and Ankara was agreed with the visa-free travel treaty signed in November 2009.

The authorities in Albania and Turkey believe the move would significantly boost trade flow, tourism and economic ties between the two countries.
