Croat president to be inaugurated today

The inauguration of Ivo Josipović, the third Croatian president since it gained independence, will be held in Zagreb today.

About 80 envoys have confirmed their arrival, ten of those presidents and nine representatives of international organizations.

Serbian President Boris Tadić will not attend the ceremony in Zagreb since Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu has confirmed his presence.

“We have the announcements from the presidents of all the countries around Croatia except from Serbia. We also expect the presidents of Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo. We are pleased that the visit of a deputy of the (U.S.) Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been announced,” Mirando Mrsić, Josipović’s election campaign chief, said.
