USA and UK propose Boris Tadic to mediate the talks between Zagreb and Ljubljana

US and UK diplomats think that Serbian President Boris Tadic could use his authority to be the mediator and influence a positive outcome of the Slovenian referendum for the arbitrary agreement for the border dispute with Croatia, scheduled for June 6, and also for the future of Croatia’s EU membership, Radio Television Serbia /RTS/ reported, quoting Croatian media.

USA and UK want Tadic, as one of the most influential persons in the region, to commit himself to the presentation of the arbitrary agreement between Croatia and Slovenia.

According to the media in Croatia, the British Ambassadors to Croatia, Slovenia, and Serbia have discussed such an initiative five days ago during a working lunch with the Secretary General of Croatian Foreign Ministry Davor Bozinovic, who however has expressed his scepticism to the idea.
