The Republic of Moldova is strongly interested in consolidation of relations with Romania in the military sphere, and hopes they will be developing at a growing pace, Moldovan Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta stated today during his meeting with admiral Gheorghe Marin, Romania’s Chief of Joint Staff.
Marinuta said the visit of such a high Romanian military official proves the importance the two countries attach to their military cooperation. He highlighted Romania’s assistance in training of the Moldovan military and its contribution to the social backing of the Moldovan military, who were provided with a possibility to spend their leaves with families at a Romanian resort near Constanţa city on the Black Sea coast.
Admiral Gheorghe Marin said the friendly ties between the two armies are the product of good neighborly relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova that are based on the principle of mutual respect.
He said the Romanian side is also interested to develop the bilateral military cooperation, which is an integral part of cooperation between the two countries.
