Bulgarian Foreign Minister to Discuss Security with US Secretary of State

Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov will meet Tuesday with US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton in Washington, DC. The main topics in the discussion will be investments, energy projects and cooperation in the security sphere.

The security topic has once again become a main focus of the United States after the U.S. State Department issued a general travel alert for Americans in Europe amid concerns that al Qaeda or related groups plan attacks similar to the 2008 massacre in the Indian city of Mumbai.

“Energy projects will be the main topic of the talks with the US Deputy Secretary of State on Energy and the US energy investors IES,” Mladenov said.
