Croatian opposition parties sign coalition agreement

The opposition Croatian People’s Party (HNS) and the Croatian Pensioners’ Party (HSU) will run as a coalition in the general elections scheduled for November 2011. This is following an agreement signed by their leaders — the HNS’s Radimic Cacic and the HSU’s Silvano Hrelja, local media reported on Monday (October 11th). In terms of size, the coalition would be third at the moment after the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the senior-ruling Croatian Democratic Union. The HNS and the HSU are currently part of an informal opposition coalition, together with the SDP and the Istrian Democratic Assembly.
