Turkey is ready to mediate future talks between Kosovo and Serbia in order to contribute to sustainable peace in the Balkans, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said as he kicked off a two-day visit to Kosovo on Wednesday (November 3rd). After meeting with counterpart Hashim Thaci, Erdogan added that Ankara feels obliged to see the state of Kosovo succeed, based on military, political, cultural and historical relations the two countries have. He confirmed that Ankara will continue to lobby for support of Kosovo’s statehood. Erdogan visited Turkish cultural heritage sites and inaugurated projects being implemented with Turkish aid.
