Georgia wants to coordinate its actions with Ukraine as both countries bid to join the European Union (EU), Georgian Deputy Prime Minister Giorgi Baramidze said here Thursday.
“Gaining EU membership is the golden goal for Georgia and Ukraine. Both countries should support each other bidding for the membership,” Baramidze told the briefing. “It is absolutely legitimate for us to cooperate, and coordinate our joint actions with this aim in mind. The Ukrainian and Georgian governments understand this,” he added.
Baramidze noted Georgia seeks further close cooperation with Ukraine in a variety of spheres, including military, transport, energy and culture.
