Serbs who fled Croatia during 1991-1995 insist that the country should solve property rights before joining the EU

Representatives of Serbs who fled Croatia during the 1991-1995 war announced on Monday (December 13th) they are launching a petition drive to insist that Croatia resolve their property rights and other outstanding issues before joining the EU. They will start collecting signatures as of Wednesday in Serbia, Montenegro, Republika Srpska, in EU member countries, the US and elsewhere. Signatures will be collected until January 31st and the petition will be delivered to the international community. According to the UN’s refugee agency, more than 200,000 ethnic Serbs fled Croatia during and after the war.
