Hungary says it will back Romania, Bulgaria’s Schengen entry

Hungary’s foreign minister says his country will do everything possible to facilitate Bulgaria and Romania’s Schengen entry during its EU presidency.

“We have a priority and that is Bulgaria and Romania’s Schengen Agreement accession,” Martonyi said.

EU diplomats were quoted as saying that about ten European countries oppose Bulgaria and Romania’s Schengen entry in March this year.

The official decision for the postponement is expected to be made during the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers on February 24.
