Talks will officially begin on Monday on the forming of a new Kosovo government in Priština. This comes after elections where Hashim Thaci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo won a majority of votes, but not enough to form government alone.
Thaci will not have many options in putting together a permanent cabinet, as he can form a sustainable ruling coalition only with the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the largest parties of minorities.
The new government is expected to be formed by February 17, on the third anniversary of the ethnic Albanian unilateral proclamation of independence.
