EC keeps close eye on situation at Bulgarian-Greek border

The European Commission (EC) keeps a close eye on the development of the situation at the Bulgarian-Greek border, said Charlotte Arwidi, spokesperson of the European Commissioner for Enterprise and Industry, commenting on the protests of Greek farmers and the blockade at the Kulata-Promachonas border checkpoint.

Arwidi added that EC representatives will hold talks with the affected member states. She said that if Bulgaria and Greece do not take the needed measures to secure the free movement of goods, the Commission may consider a variant to bring the courtiers to the European Court.
