European Parliament President welcomes Mladić arrest

President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek welcomed on Thursday the arrest of former commander of the Bosnian Serb Army Ratko Mladić.

Mladić’s arrest is a proof of Serbia’s efforts in cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Burzek said.

Burzek pointed out that the arrest of Mladić is good news for Serbia and regional stability, and that it will be an impetus for Serbia’s EU integration process.
