Georgian President discussed country’s EU road in Italy

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili discussed the country’s further European integration at a meeting with Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council in Rome. The sides stressed the importance of cooperation within the Eastern Partnership.

Rompuy and Saakashvili underscored the importance of closer and more active cooperation within this program. It was noted that this program plays an important role for the South Caucasus countries’ involvement in European policy.

Saakashvili and Rompuy also discussed talks between Georgia and Russia on the Russian Federation’s WTO membership.
