Turkish PM to visit Egypt on July 21

FM Davutoğlu, who was on a tour of the Middle East where mass anti-regime demonstrations have rocked the region since January and toppled regimes in Egypt and Tunisia, has said that PM Erdoğan is expected to pay a visit to Egypt on July 21, adding that he has visited Egypt four times in recent months.

“For us, Egypt holds the key for the success of the Arab Spring. If there is a successful process in Egypt, this will set an example for others,” Davutoğlu said on Monday after talks in Egypt where he met with the Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil al-Arabi. Davutoğlu pointed out that it is important that the prime minister’s first visit to the region will be to Egypt.
