Greek Defense Minister happy about Turkey’s approach regarding Aegean Sea

Greek Defense Minister Panos Beglitis has expressed pleasure over Turkey’s recent approach regarding the Aegean Sea, but cautioned that it is too early to say that a breakthrough is close with regard to ongoing closed-door exploratory talks between diplomats of the two countries concerning their disputes over the Aegean.

In the Aegean, Greece and Turkey have launched a moratorium that halts military exercises during the summer, Beglitis said while speaking in front of a parliamentary commission dealing with approval of international agreements.

The two countries have “completely stopped their naval activities in regions that create problems between them in the Aegean Sea and there are no flights over populated islands.
