International Civilian Office (ICO) says that Kosovo’s border action was legitimate

The International Civilian Office (ICO) says it is important that the situation in Kosovo be resolved in a peaceful manner, through talks and dialogue.

The Kosovo government has the right to ensure the functioning of a proper administration, including that which refers to borders and custom control,” the office headed by Pieter Feitt said.

ICO at the same time “urges the government that in its efforts to establish administrative control on the whole of its territory, it provides necessary assurances and support to the people in the north”.

“The present situation underlines the importance of a full engagement of both Belgrade and Priština in the dialogue assisted by the EU, all with the aim to improve the quality of the life of the people,” ICO stated.
