Serbian FM visits Azerbaijan

Serbia supports Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić stated in Baku on Thursday.

Jeremić met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to discuss the prospects for economic cooperation between the two countries.

Jeremić also met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmer Mammadyarov, who after the meeting stated that both the conflict in Azerbaijan and Serbia should be resolved within the framework of the two countries’ territorial integrity.

“Territorial integrity and state sovereignty are the key elements of all documents of international law, including the UN conventions and the Helsinki Final Act,” Jeremić said after the meeting with Mammadyarov.

“The two countries share positions on many important issues, and both of them accept the supremacy of the principles of international law such as territorial integrity and state sovereignty,” Jeremić stressed.

Jeremić added that this and the next year will be crucial in the two countries’ economic cooperation.
