The European Union (EU) Tuesday reiterated its position that it wants debt-ridden Greece to remain inside the 17-member Eurozone following an interview by an EU Commissioner who said that a Greek Euro-exit “will not destroy the Eurozone.”
“We want Greece to remain a member of euro area. We are fully confident that euro will survive the crisis,” EU spokesman Olivier Bailly told a news conference.
Meanwhile, talks between the Greek government and its lenders continue in Athens today.
