Romanian parliament to vote on new government on Thursday

Romania’s former Prime Minister Emil Boc said Tuesday the Parliament will assemble to hold a confidence vote for a new government Thursday and the ruling coalition is expected to nominate new ministers soon.

Emil Boc handed in his resignation on Monday, saying he wanted to defuse political and social tension in the country.

President Traian Basescu later on named intelligence chief Mihai Razvan Ungureanu as the new prime minister.
