UN allocates aid to Moldova which was affected by extreme cold weather

The UN allocates USD 70,000 for the purchase of the most necessary goods for the people affected by the cold snap in Moldova. The aid comes after a request from the Moldovan government.

In the recent weeks Moldova has been struggling with unusually low temperatures. According to the Service of Civil Protection and Extraordinary Situations at least 20 hypothermia cases are registered every day. Many settlements, mainly in Southern Moldova, have no electricity.
