US ambassador to Skopje says name must be solved before joining NATO

“The US position about Macedonia’s NATO membership remains unchanged. We want to see the country become a member of the Alliance but it has to solve the name issue,” said US Ambassador to Skopje Paul Wohlers.

In Wohlers’ words, the US would not raise the initiative for Macedonia’s membership at the Chicago summit of the Alliance, since there is no consensus on the issue.
