A two-day summit of EU leaders will begin in Brussels on Thursday and the final decision on Serbia’s EU candidate status is expected to be made tonight.
According to a schedule, the EU leaders should discuss whether to grant Serbia the candidate status on the first day of the summit.
The EU ministers will also discuss the situation in eurozone and Schengen enlargement. It is expected that the debate on Serbia will be short bearing in mind that European institutions believe that Serbia has fulfilled all conditions that were set in December.
The European Commission recommended granting Serbia the candidate status already in October last year.
