Italy backs Bulgaria’s Schengen entry

Bulgaria has registered a significant progress and should really enter the Schengen Agreement, according to Margherita Boniver, chair of the Italian parliamentary committee on Schengen and immigration issues.

“As you know, Italy has never had any objections regarding this, and our country lifted the partial restrictions it had on accepting Bulgarian workers in its territory and in EU,” she pointed out, as cited by BGNES.

On Thursday, the Italian delegates will meet with Bulgarian Deputy Interior Minister Dimitar Georgiev and with representatives of the Interior Ministry’s Chief Directorate “Border Police” and Migration Directorate.
