Cypriot politician said greek population of Cyprus will back Armenia

On April 23-24, Cyprus hosted several Armenian Genocide commemorative events.

Armenian community representative Vardges Mahtesian and speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus Yiannakis Omirou joined the commemorative events at Memorial to Armenian Genocide martyrs and said:

“We are obliged to continue the struggle. The Greek population of Cyprus will always back the Armenian people, another victim of Turkish violence.”
