Vladimir Putin was sworn in as Russia’s president on Monday.
This is Putin’s third term in office.
“We are entering a new stage of national development,” Putin said after the inauguration.
“The life of future generations, the historical prospects of our state and our nation, today depend on us, on our efforts at saving people and supporting Russian families, our persistence in managing vast Russian territories from the Baltic to the Pacific Ocean, our ability to become leaders and the centre of gravity for the entire Eurasia,” he added.
