EU-Montenegro discussions could kick-off in June

Montenegro should start membership EU negotiations next month, the Enlargement Commissioner said, promising that the EU will continue to accept new members.

“The European Union continues to grow. Croatia will join us soon, Serbia has been granted candidate status, and negotiations with Montenegro should start next month,” he said.

Media in Podgrica interpreted Fule’s message as a definite sign that Montenegro will open negotiations with the EU in a few weeks.
