Schengen entry for Bulgaria and Romania to be priority for Cypruss

Bulgaria and Romania’s accession to the Schengen Agreement is expected to be a key priority for the upcoming Cypriot EU Presidency, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry announced.

He discussed about Schengen his counterparts from Romania and Cyprus. The three countries discussed specific measures that would contribute to a positive development for Bulgaria and Romania’s Schengen bids in September.

The Netherlands still opposes the two countries’ Schengen entry, waiting to see a positive Co-operation and Verification Mechanism before it lifts its veto.
