Catherine Ashton starts Balkan tour

imgHigh Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton is beginning her visit to the region on Monday with a trip to Montenegro.

In Montenegro, Ashton is to meet with PM Milo Đukanović and FM Igor Lukšić, but the EU delegation in Podgorica said there were no plans for a meeting with representatives of the country’s opposition parties.

It is possible that she will also visit Serbia.

A statement from her office confirmed the visits to Montenegro, Albania, and Macedonia.
