Serbian minister says UN membership for Kosovo is unacceptable

Serbia’s Finance Minister Mlađan Dinkić says that an agreement with Priština is close but that Kosovo’s membership in the UN is unacceptable to Serbia.

“An agreement between Belgrade and Priština that was offered in Brussels yesterday is significantly improved but I cannot understand why Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci threw in a condition that Serbia will never be able to accept – that there are no obstacles to Kosovo’s UN membership,” he said.

Dinkić added that if Thaci withdrew his request, everything else from the draft agreement would be acceptable to Serbia.
