Bulgaria and Romania to open new bridge over Danube

Bulgarian Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski and his Romanian counterpart Victor Ponta will be among the officials present at the launching ceremony of the second bridge over the river Danube between Bulgaria and Romania on Friday, June 14.

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, Transport Minister Danail Papazov, Parliament Chair Mihail Mikov, as well as Romanian Cabinet members and European Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn will also take part in the ceremony, according to the Bulgarian Transport Ministry.

Danube Bridge 2 linking Vidin in Bulgaria and Calafat in Romania is part of the Pan-European transport corridor IV.
