Serbia has “reasons to rejoice” after the Council of the EU Ministers adopted “a historic decision,” Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčak believes.
Lajčak said that Serbia is now invited to enter the final phase of the EU accession process, and that this is an irreversible process.
“Now it is only a matter of speed since the membership is at the end of the process. It is very important that it has been said that the talks should start in January at the latest, and that there are no additional conditions,” he underlined.
“The atmosphere at the ministerial meeting in Luxembourg was very positive although the discussion about Serbia was lengthy,” Lajčak said.
