Fierce fighting is raging between Syrian regime troops and oppositions forces on southern outskirts of the town of Al-Qunaitrah in the Golan Heights, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Friday.
The observatory indicated in a statement that a number of people were killed and wounded in the clashes that erupted at dawn and that the two sides dueled with automatic guns and mortars.
It reported fighting between the regime army and the opposition Free Syrian Army with heavy arms in several towns located on Damascus outskirts. Al-Mleeha, Al-Mu’ddamia and Daraya were targeted with rockets and artillery shells.
In central province of Homs, the regime warplanes carried out raids on the town of Mohin and the village Hawarin, but there were no casualties’ reports.
The observatory appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Syrian Red Crescent to relieve a number of wounded people, stranded in Al-Tal and the western neighborhood in Deraa.
It also reported sporadic clashes, violence and hit-and-run attacks at several locations on the Syrian territories over the past hours.
