Turkey’s National Security Council discusses Syria and Iraq

Turkey’s National Security Council (MGK) met today to discuss the Syrian crisis, increasing violence in Iraq and the latest developments in the Middle East.

A declaration released following the bimonthly meeting in Ankara said the meeting reviewed the threats generated by the clashes in Syria and measures taken against them.

The council also discussed Turkey’s humanitarian efforts to aid Syrian refugees.
