Chinese FM says Geneva II talks should focus on dialogue and negotiation

Chinese Foreign Minister welcomes Geneva II Conference calling on all parties in Syria to participate.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said there are five principles for an agreement “the future of Syria must be decided by its own people, an inclusive political process must be promoted, national reconciliation and unity must be achieved and humanitarian assistance must be delivered in Syria and its neighboring countries.”

The foreign minister said the upcoming meeting in Geneva should focus on ongoing process marking the beginning of dialogue and negotiation.
