French, Morrocan MPs discuss bilateral cooperation in fight against terror

The participants in the 2nd French-Moroccan Parliamentary Forum, held on Thursday, stressed the need to step up bilateral partnership to fight terrorism and develop a comprehensive approach against this phenomenon.
In the final statement adopted at the end of this forum, Moroccan and French parliamentarians noted that France and Morocco share a tradition of openness that condemns all forms of radicalization and extremism, adding that the two countries have adopted a resolute policy against terrorist acts.
“Security cooperation between our two countries to dismantle terrorist networks is a priority,” the parliamentarians noted, hailing the restoration of the Moroccan-French judicial cooperation, “whose contribution is essential to meet security challenges.”
The participants in the Forum shared their concerns about the rising insecurity in the Sahel and Central Africa, unreservedly condemning the terrorist acts of Boko Haram.
Representatives of Moroccan and French parliaments also expressed their concern about the situation in Libya, noting the urgency for a “political solution within the framework of the dialogue launched by the United Nations”.
