France condemns attack against Algerian police

France on Monday condemned an attack against an Algerian police station in the eastern city of Constantine a day earlier, an official statement said.
Reports said police shot a suicide bomber and exploded his explosives belt as he approached the police post for an attack.
Two Algerian policemen were reported to have been injured in the attack, the second such incident in the city in a matter of weeks.
“France condemns the terrorist attack carried out in Constantine February 26, which injured two policemen,” Paris said in a Foreign Ministry statement. France again expressed solidarity with the Algerian people and authorities and support in the fight against terrorism which Algeria is carrying out “with courage and determination,” the statement indicated.
