US condemns Benghazi attacks

United States, France, Italy and the United Kingdom have condemned in the strongest terms Benghazi twin car bomb explosions, describing them as “horrific terrorist attacks.”
In a joint statement by their ambassadors and chargés d’affaires on Thursday, the four countries said they will continue their efforts with their international partners to combat “terrorism” in Libya, and pursue action against those who are complicit in such horrific attacks.
They also condemned the extrajudicial execution of 10 captives by serial killer Mahmud Werfalli, a commander in Khalifa Haftar’s self-styled army, urging the latter to ensure an investigation into the summary executions happen in a complete and fair way and that those responsible for unlawful killings are held accountable.
“Those suspected of committing, ordering, or failing to prevent terrorist attacks, summary executions, and torture on all sides must be fully investigated.” The statement reads.
The four countries confirmed that they we will continue their efforts at the international level to pursue appropriate action against those who are complicit in violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law.
