M4 highway | Turkish army amasses troops in west Idlib countryside

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that Turkish forces have blocked Latakia-Aleppo international highway (M4), near Muhambel town in the western countryside of Idlib, while Turkish troops were seen on high alert there. It is expected that Turkish forces will patrol the M4 highway alone.

On October 1, Observatory activists monitored engineering teams escorting Turkish forces sweeping Latakia-Aleppo international highway (M4), starting form Al-Nayreb village in eastern Idlib, in order to remove and dismantle mines. Turkish forces later ran a patrol on M4 from Al-Nayreb to Ain Hoor in the northern countryside of Latakia.

While on September 23, Observatory activists monitored deployment of Turkish forces and their proxies along the entire M4 highway to the flank of Idlib province. The Turkish forces and their proxy factions later started sweeping operation, searching for mines and IEDs.
