IDF strikes Hamas targets after rocket lands in Southern Gaza Strip

The IDF attack was carried out in response to rocket fire from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory earlier last night.

IDF fighter jets and aircraft attacked a number of terror targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday night after a rocket landed in an open field in Israel, the military announced.

Rocket sirens sounded on Friday evening in Sde Avraham and Holit, both located along the southern Gaza Strip border.
Soon after, the IDF and local authorities revealed that a rocket was spotted landing in an open field, causing no injury.
This comes after another rocket landed in an open area in Israeli territory on Thursday evening, setting off rocket sirens in Sderot, Ibim and Nir Am in southern Israel.

Following the Friday attack, an IDF spokesperson announced that fighter jets and other aircraft attacked a number of terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip in retaliation.

The IDF’s retaliatory attack targeted a Hamas training facility, a station containing anti-aircraft launchers in development, a factory used to produce concrete for digging terrorist tunnels and storing weapons, and infrastructure for Hamas terror tunnels.
“For the second day in a row, Gaza is under Zionist attacks during Ramadan,” said a spokesperson for Hamas following the attack, The Jerusalem Post’s sister publication Maariv reported Saturday. “Gaza is fighting and will wake up to a new day and continue to fight for her liberation from the occupying people.”
