The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, after the meeting with the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, said that the statements of the Undersecretary of the State Department, James Rubin, about Serbia being one of the centers for Russian disinformation are far from the truth.
Vučić pointed out that Serbia will still pursue a friendly policy towards the USA, but that it will not rush into conflict with Russia and China.
Rubin, who is a special envoy and coordinator of the US State Department’s Center for Global Engagement, toured the region last week and spoke about the need to protect against Russian disinformation.
When asked by journalists about the meetings of American ambassadors from the region, he replied that it is common for US ambassadors from countries in the region to meet in Serbia, and that German diplomats also had meetings here.
- I tried to remain silent and not respond to James Rubin’s statements, because I wanted to be the master of every unspoken word, and not to put an additional burden on Serbia. But I have only one counter-question to his demands. So James Rubin said during his visit to Podgorica that he hopes and expects that Podgorica will not rely on Belgrade and Moscow. And on several occasions he spoke of Belgrade as a center for Russian disinformation. Aside from the fact that these are not things that are even close to the truth, but they talk about the fact that some people in the American administration are leaning on the time from the 90s when they cheered and dressed, and they have the same animosity towards Serbia and the Serbian people. About the export of weapons
In response to comments from the opposition about arms exports to Ukraine, he says that Serbia has not exported a single bullet to Ukraine and Russia.
He said that in front of Dodik he could not fully respond to political opponents as he would like, so he would refrain.
- When you say when you sell to NATO countries We can’t sell to ODKB countries, we can’t to Russia’s friends, we can’t to NATO countries and their friends, we can’t to Shania, the Czech Republic, Turkey. Who do you want us to sell to? What do you want us to do? To abolish production and close factories and abolish wages and pensions. I don’t understand what he wants from us. This is what people who advocate for Ukraine and sanctions against Russia say. When we cooperate with Azerbaijan, they say that we are actually working for Russia. What do you want? You have destroyed enough of our army. Destroyed zolje and arrows. I’m not going to do that, I want to raise our army. We will not export any bullets to Ukraine and Russia. We produce something that is used on the battlefield and not for the catwalk – said Vučić.
Radoičić is the topic again
When asked about complaints that he did not offer anything to the Serbs from Kosovo at yesterday’s meeting and that everything was a show, he says that the Serbs are satisfied.
- They know how they live. They cannot be satisfied because of the situation in which they live, but they know how much the state makes. And what did they offer them? They also saw in 2008. Kosovo declares independence and they offered them silence and prayer. And in 2004, neither. A very powerful announcement. And when Kosovo declared independence and recognized them, they kicked out the Macedonian and Montenegrin ambassadors. Going into wars that we are going to lose, it doesn’t cross my mind – said Vučić.
According to his words, only a strong state could offer help to the crazy people from KiM.
