Numerous citizens who protested in front of the Ministry of Education after the tragedy in vladislav ribnikar elementary school demanded the resignation of Minister Branko Ruzic. The same demand was made by the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, some trade unions, the opposition.
President Aleksandar Vucic and Minister Ivica Dacic stated that Ruzic is ready to resign. Although it was expected that he would resign at least for moral reasons after the terrible tragedy in which eight children and a school guard were killed, Ruzic, nevertheless, did not do so.
Instead of personal responsibility, the education minister blamed the crime, committed by seventh-grader Costa K, blaming, among other things, on western values. Neither now, nor recently, when the opposition demanded the minister’s resignation due to the scandal with Kristijan Golubović, Ružić did not for a moment consider his, any, responsibility.
On the contrary, at the complaint of a concerned parent that Kristijan Golubović, one of the few surviving members of the so-called Voždovac clan from the 1990s, was filming a video with the hip-hop band “Crni Cerak” at the School “Đura Jakšić” on Kanarev Brdo, the Minister of Education stated: “Well, what?”.
He reacted similarly when the church asked for a change in the content of biology textbooks. Although a socialist – a leftist has shown that for him the Church is above science. On the side of education and employees in education, Ružić did not stop even when Olivera Marjanovic, director of elementary school “Aleksa Šantić” from Secanj, banned the local priest from serving religious ceremonies in school, on the occasion of the school slava of St. Sava. Instead of supporting it, the minister of education asked – how is it possible to commemorate slava “if not by cutting the Slava cake”.
The minister was not worried about the disappearance of the secular state, the violation of the Constitution, or the fact that many young people in an atmosphere of absolute disorientation of society would accept “Christianization” as a model of living and wish to be Christian when they grow up.
After all, the minister himself a few years ago with a picture from a pub with Igor Mikic, who made a name for himself with the cry “Vucic” in the live broadcast of the Football match Serbia-Albania, showed who his idols are. “A wonderful man, honest, honest and, most importantly to me, a gravedigger from head to toe – Ruzic wrote then under the forography. A little later, at a celebration with food and drinks, he was photographed with the company of “škaljarac” Damir Hadžić.
And then he leaned towards the politically stronger, avancing. First, he became minister without portfolio in the Government of Serbia, in charge of the EU, and then became minister of public administration and local self-government and for the second term he is the minister of education.
It is not known that Ruzic was engaged in any other job, except in politics. He was a student vice dean at the FPN, president of the Young Socialists, sps spokesperson, chairman of the IO SPS, vice-president of that party, and in several mandates mp and head of the parliamentary group. He was also vice president of FK Partizan until 2013.
He was born in 1975 in Zemun. He spent his childhood in Australia because his father was a Yugoslav diplomat. He graduated from the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade.
He is married to Anna and has a son Milutin and a daughter Elena.
