Military spokesperson for the Yemeni Houthi group, Yahya Saree, held a press conference discussing the missile attack that earlier today breached Israeli defenses, announcing further strikes.
The Israeli military stated that the missile landed in an open area and there were no casualties. Saree said the Houthis targeted a “military objective in the Jaffa area of occupied Palestine,” reports Al Jazeera.
According to him, a new hypersonic ballistic missile was used in the operation, reaching its target without being intercepted. He stated that the hypersonic projectile traveled a distance of 2,040 km in 11 and a half minutes, causing two million Israelis to flee to shelters “for the first time in the enemy’s history,” reports Fena.
He warned that Israel can expect more significant operations as the first anniversary of Hamas’s attack on October 7 approaches.
The armed forces of the Yemeni Houthis, supported by Iran, control much of Yemen. In July, the Houthis launched a long-range drone at Tel Aviv, killing one person and injuring four others.
